This is week 13 of my 52 week photo challenge and boy it’s been tough! I was looking for something quite specific all week and it never happened… so this shot was a quick grab due to the fact that I’m off to Ireland for the weekend.

The light was beautiful today, and I was hoping to take a photo of a reflection in a puddle, but it’s been dry for a couple of weeks now and that just hasn’t happened.So I decided to try and capture my mood…feeling a little bit lost, tired, confused, unable to concentrate…basically desperately in need of a holiday!

So I’ve done a bit of an old trick, which I haven’t really done on myself before, I’ve taken two photos, one with me standing on a step ladder with my head in the tree, and the second without me or the stepladder in to capture the ground and sun. Photoshop the two together, removing the stepladder, add some lens flare for effect, black and white the image apart from myself and then colour cast the whole image to give it a slightly surreal effect.

Personally I’m pretty happy with the results, I’d like to have made the whole thing a little more ‘floaty’ as I do look a bit static, but at the same time that’s how I’ve been feeling…so it works well.
